White qamis and red keffiyeh, button detail

Midnight blue, navy

Blue qamis for men

Softer than black, more distinctive than white, midnight blue gives the qamis a quiet elegance. It comes in a fitted cut with the Emirati qamis and in a loose cut with the Mecca qamis.

Navy Emirati qamis, worn, front view

The midnight blue Emirati qamis

Fitted cut, collar and braided cord: in midnight blue, the Emirati qamis looks understated and modern. With a white keffiyeh it plays on contrast; on its own it works every day as well as for visits.

Navy Mecca qamis worn, front view

The blue Mecca qamis

Stand collar, buttoned placket and chest pocket: the Mecca qamis, in a loose cut and premium fabric, gives complete freedom of movement. Its deep blue takes you from the mosque to every day.

Caring for a blue qamis

  • Wash it inside out, with dark colours, at 30 °C maximum.

  • Choose a gentle detergent for colours, without bleaching agents.

  • Dry it hanging, in the shade: sunlight dulls deep blues.

  • Iron it on a low setting, inside out, without too much steam.

Frequently asked questions

The blue qamis: your questions

Midnight blue or navy: what is the difference?

Navy is a clear dark blue; midnight blue, deeper still, looks almost black in evening light. Our blue qamis sits among these very dark shades: as understated as black, but softer.

Can you wear a blue qamis for Eid or a wedding?

Yes. Midnight blue is dressy without being solemn: it suits Eid visits as well as weddings, especially for guests. For the morning prayer, many still prefer the white qamis.

Emirati cut or Mecca cut: which one?

The fitted Emirati shapes the silhouette and suits dressier outfits. The loose Mecca puts comfort and freedom of movement first: ideal for long days and long prayers.
