Frequently asked questions
Answers to your most frequent questions
What makes your qamis unique?
At Bayt Yusuf, our qamis stand out for their high-quality artisan tailoring, combining timeless elegance with modern comfort. Every piece is made from fabrics chosen for their softness, durability and fluidity, with an impeccable drape suited to an active lifestyle. Our models feature refined details, such as careful finishes on the collars and cuffs, for a sophisticated silhouette. Whether you choose a fitted or a loose cut, our qamis strike a perfect balance between tradition and innovation, designed to enhance a man’s presence every day or on special occasions.
Are the sizes for a fitted or a loose cut?
Our sizes depend on the model you choose, to suit different style and comfort preferences. The Emirati model has a fitted cut that follows the body for a modern, structured look.
The Mecca model, on the other hand, has a looser, more comfortable cut, ideal for complete freedom of movement while keeping a flowing elegance. We recommend checking the detailed size guide on the website to choose the size that best suits your build, and feel free to contact us for personal advice.
How do I care for my qamis?
To preserve the beauty and lifespan of your Bayt Yusuf qamis, we recommend simple care that respects quality fabrics. Machine wash at 30°C maximum, on a delicate cycle with a mild detergent without bleach.
Avoid the tumble dryer to prevent shrinking or damage to the fibres; dry it naturally in the shade, hung up to keep its shape. Iron on low heat (110°C maximum) inside out, without too much steam. If there is a stain, treat it locally with a suitable product before washing. These simple steps keep your qamis impeccable wear after wear.
Where are your products made?
Our qamis are made in Dubai by experienced artisans, renowned for their exceptional skill in tailoring traditional garments. Every piece is made to our precise specifications, using superior-quality fabrics and impeccable finishes.
Once made, the products are shipped to us for a rigorous quality check before they are offered on our website. This approach lets us combine artisan authenticity with high standards, while supporting ethical practices throughout production.
Are there customisation options?
Our qamis are currently available in a selection of set colours, models and sizes, carefully chosen to offer an elegant, accessible range. Although full customisation is not yet offered, we can adjust some details on request, such as minor changes to the length or finishes, where feasible.
If you have a specific idea, feel free to contact us through our support form; together we will look at the possibilities to create a piece that suits you. We are continually working to expand our range with more customisation options in the future.
How long does delivery take?
We are committed to delivering your orders as quickly as possible, with a general estimate of 5 to 10 working days for destinations in Europe and North America, depending on the exact location and any customs delays.

What is the difference between a qamis and a djellaba?
The djellaba, a garment from the Maghreb, is wider and recognisable by its hood; it is often worn over other clothes. The qamis has no hood, follows the body more closely and is worn on its own. Gandoura, thobe, kandura: we explain every difference in our guide Qamis, djellaba, gandoura, thobe: what is the difference?
How do I choose the size and length of my qamis?
The size (M, L or XL) depends on your build, the length (54 to 62) on your height: from 54 for 1.60 m to 1.66 m up to 62 for 1.84 m to 1.90 m. On every product page, the “Find my size” button recommends both from your height. Between two sizes, contact us and we will gladly advise you.
Is the qamis a religious garment?
The qamis is not a religious obligation: it is a traditional, modest and comfortable garment. Many wear it out of attachment to the Sunnah, as it was the Prophet’s ﷺ favourite garment, especially for prayer, Fridays and celebrations.
